Turning 65
I recently celebrated my 65th birthday and thought I would share some of the reasons I am excited about it. First and foremost I no longer have to maintain full time employment. Yea! Discounts just about everywhere! Actually I have been receiving discounts at some places since I was 55. Who said getting older was a bad thing. Medicare. With it I only need to add a supplemental policy. I know, I know it has received a lot of bed press. But for me it is enough. I don’t believe in running to the doctor for every little thing and pretty much do not take prescription medication but broke my arm in December and received excellent care at Memorial Hermann without a fortune out of pocket. And yes, you better believe I took the prescription pain medication. A more relaxed attitude about life, thank goodness. As I have aged many things have lost their urgency and I am more able to “go with the flow” which makes for a much less stressful existence. I am looking forward to the best years of my life.
